obviously, I've got IRQ's with more than one thing on them.
However, all my checks at the device manager level say "no conflicts".
For example, my sound card is with some USB stuff (3 or 4) and my video card is with one USB thing,
Is this stillokay, or is there a better combination for sound and video cards. Should they be totally alone on an IRQ? And if so, which IRQ should they be put on as I'm not sure if there were any empty ones?

IRQ sharing is usually not a problem, sharing is allowed on the XP platform, and part of what XP does.
BUT, USB can have trouble if shared, so if you experience sound drop-outs, when mixing, there reason can be that the USB and soundcard conflicts.
But if you have no such issues, no need to worry about the IRQs ;)

okay, my issues have been slowness in loading mp3's, sometimes stalling while playing videos, sometimes really, really slow in loading videos. Any new suggestions ??

Could be a hardware (IRQ) conflict, but VDJ loads mp3 and videos slow by intention, by default.
To prevent skips on slower pc's.
You can try turing that safe measurement off, by going to registry, and switch SPEEDLOAD from 0 to 1.
Or just use DJ Cels registry tool, that changes that easily. Found at tool download page

I've done all the other explorer tweaks and skyfxl blog tweaks and all that stuff,. set minimum pagefile to 1.5 times the RAM size (RAM is 1 gB on laptop) and 3 times RAM for max. pagefile size; is that about right? Do I set a pagefile for the ext. harddrive too or leave it blank as it is now? (500 GB 7200 ext. HD usb2.0)
My processor is 1.8gHz dual-core. (Dell E1505) I also uninstalled and reinstalled a fresh 4.2r1 full exe file.
And a full defrag.
Also, I noticed pops and crackles at autolatency (built in integrated basic laptop sound card), so I had to go all the way to 2048 (seems kinda high) before it stopped completely. Is this normal (typical). Everything else seems to load a bit faster now, though. If it gets worse I'll try the registry thing?
Copied back all databases back into folder, etc.
While going back and forth to test the transition effects, I noticed is that when I have two videos playing on both decks at the same time and I move the slider say from left to right and back to the left again, that left video has frozen but the music is still playing? Right video is okay though. It has the same problem in reverse( right to left to right again). It doesn't like something about the transition back and forth?
What may be the cause of this? What can I do about it now? I do this a lot at shows (back and forth videoing).
