I thought it might be cool to type out a number of things that can be displayed (drink specials, DJ's name, upcoming events) and use them one at a time by selecting it on a clipboard. I could workaround it by just opening MS Word and cut and paste. Still, could anyone make this? Is this a good idea?

A great idea. If you could save bits of text as slides in the slideshow - things like "Last orders, please", or "If you have a request, see the DJ", or Congratulations to (insert bride and groom's names here)" at a wedding, or "Happy (insert age and ordinal here here) Birthday (insert birthday boy or girl's name here) or even your name and that of your disco.
