I'm w/ pulsaruk, I spent a lot of money to create a professional looking set up: new laptop, Hercules console, speakers, wiring. The only thing I didn't update was the software & why should I when 3.0 is supposed to be vista compatible. Also, I'm not about to hack my new $1200 computer for a program that's intended to work by putting in a disc. Instead of sending bogus suggestions, how about a real resolution or @ least an update as to what's going on. I still haven't gotten a straight forward answer to the problem. I can wait, but what exactly am I waiting for?

And now you have problems running the software, because of the crack.
Cracked versions have changed code, so will often make the system not work.
Like in your case, and now you are mad at VDJ here:
http://www.virtualdj.com/forums/67480/General_Discussion/customer_support___what_a_joke___read_this.html
So, dont install cracks if you want it to work, and also, cracks out there have viruses, and other bad things..
I would never take a chance on that

This is a bad joke...
I have answered many problems using Windows Vista and Hercules DJConsole. all of that users have WORKING 100% their Hercules DJConsoles and VirtualDJ (3.4.1) or Pro (4.2r1) without a glinch.
First WE don't support cracked versions becuase is a lack of time and fail in many things that the legal version don't. So any help in cracked versions is useless.

After installing the latest hercules drivers & reboot, if you attempt to install the LEGAL version of VDJ, which comes bundled w/ the hercules console, it asks if you want to "uninstall hercules"(both programs are on the same disc). What do I do next? Step by step...please.
Also, try to be courteous w/ your response. I'm by no means an expert w/ computers...might be a good idea if there was a video tutorial for vista premium users...just a thought.
I hope your, "WORKING 100%" trend continues w/ me. My situation has already been posted earlier in this thread.
Thanx in advance

After booting into Vista, the Hercules will ask you to uninstall the drivers, if you used the drivers on the disk, yes.. Because those drivers are old, and not working in Vista.
You need to download the latest driver from www.hercules.com, that also includes a firmware update.
This is needed for Hercules AND VDJ Console version to work together in Vista.
When installing the downloaded drivers from Hercules, it will ask automatically uninstall the old drivers (Asking you first, if its ok), then reboot, and then install the new drivers. Part of this process is a firmware driver, and you will get a on-screen display at this time telling you what to do..
After the new drivers are installed, you need to reboot the PC again.
Then download and install the free 3.4.1 version of VDJ from this website, and install that (Vista compatible)
This will work great;)

It wouldn't let me install from disc because vista was preloaded...so no. I had no choice but to download from hercules.com, which means I DO have the current drivers. Has the VDJ software been updated since last week? I was told by a VDJ rep to save the install onto my desktop instead of running it from the site, so I can run as administrator. So every time I uninstall both programs, I install hercules from their website & VDJ from my desktop. I have also saved the install for the current hercules driver onto my desktop just to see what happens when I run it.
Also since you guys are on top of things, what version should appear when I look in the "about" tab for the MK2 console?

Yes, VDJ has been updated for Vista (console version)
http://www.virtualdj.com/update.html
It should read 3.4.1 in the "About" tab
Inviato Tue 27 Mar 07 @ 10:42 pm
So are you confirming that since last Wed. the VDJ software has been updated?(it said "Vista Update" last Wed.)
And not the "about" tab for VDJ but for Hercules.

Hercules should read Firmware 13
VDJ should read version 3.4.1 in the info tab
Yes, there is a new version, but its been out longer than wednesday though

Driver Package Version 3.4.0.0
DJ Console Mk2 :
DJ Console Mk2 Firmware Version 13.7
Mk2 Control Panel Version 1.2.0.8
DJ Console :
DJ Console Firmware 35
DJ Console Control Panel version 1.4.2.5
Inviato Tue 27 Mar 07 @ 11:11 pm
Now we're getting somewhere. My version of MK2 will not upgrade to 13.7(I thought it was 1.3.7). Nevertheless, it says version 13.6 or 1.3.6...can't remember. I tried to upgrade my driver, but it says I have the current version. What would you suggest next?(keep in mind I've been downloading driver from hercules.com)
Inviato Tue 27 Mar 07 @ 11:30 pm
Make sure you download the right drivers
There are more than one console
So if you have the Mp3 Console, you need those drivers
Mk2 console have different drivers
Make sure you are using the correct ones

Oh, re-read your post
You need firmware 13
If its 13.6 or 13.7 I dont think is of much importance (hence the reason it says, you already have the latest drivers)
But you can try uninstall the 13.6, and then install 13.7, and see if that fixes things

i have just done this with the hercules update and it works fine on vista 100% im so happy now, i had to go throgh the sequence twice but it does work, there is no hercules update .17 but .16 works with the vdj i downloaded.

I'm just glad it worked in the end ;)
Good to hear
Inviato Wed 28 Mar 07 @ 12:32 am
Glad to heard that too.
Sorry if I sound mad about this thread, but I look takes too long to complete, sorry about my rude words wherever it weres.
In fact all we need is to download the lastest drivers and look if our Hercules Console firmware is 13.xx. If it is, it should work. If not, and you have an earlier firmware, you need to upgrade itin a XP machine first, isntalling in there first the old drivers and after that doing the update to the lastest firmware.
Then in our web page you need to dowload the 3.4.1 version if you don't have it. If you already have it, just run it to install.
If you are a Professional user, you have to install version 4.2r1 and that's all. I have already post some configuration settings to take care in my last answer.
again, apologize for my bad temper... (anyone who knows me know that I'm a cool guy)
I hope DJ Saud could get it working too.
Cheers,
