How do you "cue" with your headphones without using an external mixer, using Numark's Total Control because it is not a soundcard like the Hercules DJ Control MK2.

Hi,
If you are on a buget, you can use the "mono-separated" output option. This only uses your standard headphone jack on your computer.
You will only have to buy or make an adapter cable that splits the left channel of your headphone output into one plug (for cueing) and the righhand output to you sound system.
If you've got a little money to spend you could buy a plug in usb sound card like this
http://www.amazon.co.uk/MVS-USB-Sound-Card/dp/B000MPLR6O/ref=sr_1_30/202-9228055-0131832?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1174308182&sr=1-30
(I havn't tried this particular one, but anything like this should work fine)
Then cue using your headphones in one card, and output to the sound system using your computers inbuilt sound card.
Or you could buy a surround sound card, then you can plug your headphones into say the rear speakers socket and your final output to the front speakers socket.
Or if you're looking for professional usage, then there's lots of professional sound cards with headphone outputs on. Like this maybe

(again, I haven't got this card, but I know people use this with VDJ)
I'm not sure if they're availible yet, but the numark DJ IO soundcard is designed for exactly the purpose you discribed.
Within the sound-card setup of VDJ, you can set up just about any sound card!
Hope that helps :)

oh, and I've just realised, you could simply just use your hurcules as the sound card and the total control for playing the music!
