Videos are preaty hard to do right now because we kind of cannot see any titles or anything yet (problem is being worked on)
Maybe other users have tried the video portion....
I myself was able to try it. Because the software is new, there aren't to many effects yet. I have a G4 IBook, which is to slow for video. Really should be done on a G5 or higher (Intel Mac) 1.8 Ghz or higher.
Yes VDJ for Mac can do videos.

Well I got a MACBOOK PRO :: 17 inch, 2.33 dual, 2 gigs ram, 200 gb hardrive, ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 graphics with 256MB SDRAM.
Its APPLE's best current lappy so im sure i have the specs.
I'll make the purchase of VDJ MAC when the bugs/fonts get sorted.
If anyone is doing video...Please update this thread with your info. Thanks

I have been playing around with the public beta software since it came out. I have noticed that the grafics are a lot better on the macbook than on my sony vaio and my dell lappy. I am so far impress with the quality of the video. When I plug in my dvi connection to the monitor It's DVD quality picture to me. I don't know man; I heard some are saying that Macbook with the shared graphic memories will not do justice to running videos on the mac version. I think that these people might have gotten that one wrong. So far, videos runs great on my macbook second edition.

Good to hear.
My only concern was that the MacBook's Intel GMA 950 graphics processor would not be good enough, but the next revision of the MacBook will have a MUCH better shared graphics system.
So if the current MacBook's are handling video as well as some are reporting on these forums, then it's just gonna be that much better when the new MacBooks come around very shortly. =)

I have not been so lucky (see my post). I can't seem to figure out how to output my video to an external source. I have no problem connecting my MacBook Pro to a television via a DVI to VGA adapter, but VDJ doesn't seem to recognize it. I'm using very clean MPEG-2 sources that look terrible in VDJ's video and mixer windows. I'm a newbie, so feel free to give me a clue.
Also is there a Mac DVI to PC DVI adapter out there? My projector's DVI connection is of the latter flavor.

DVI signal/hardware is DVI signal/hardware whether the signal is being output, or the hardware is installed, in a Mac, windows, or any other OS computer.
Now are you possibly talking about a 9-pin vs. 15-pin DVI connection, or do you just think that mini-DVI out (which is what the MacBooks and iMacs use) is not "real" DVI?

I have a MacBook Pro so it's not mini-DVI. However, it is smaller than what I've seen on PC's, as well as my projector.
For almost a year, I have been VJ'ing with another software on my MacBook Pro. I output my video to a projector that is about 25 feet away from me using the Apple DVI video adapter. For the life of me I can't get this set up to work in VDJ.
For troubleshooting purposes, I wanted to go straight DVI to the projector, but the connections don't match up (although they look practically identical, only my mac's connection is a few millimeters smaller than the projector's).
That issue aside, should I be able to use my Apple DVI video adapter with VDJ?

I have yet to try it myself, but I will do so tomorrow and report back.
