Looking to get started mixing videos, I have a Dell XPSM140, not the greatest vidoe card for a laptop, sometimes I see a yellow or green stripe down the middle....is it the laptop?
I have a nice 37" HDLCD TV coming to add to my setup, but I think I might need a new desktop computer with a good vidoe card........does this sound right??
Looking for some assistance with vidoe mixing....thanks!!

It can be either your video card or the way the video file was encoded.

This is the way I got it to work on my m140 w/ HW acceleration.
Install Video driver a07:http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&releaseid=R112732&SystemID=XPS_M140&servicetag=&os=WW1&osl=en&deviceid=3526&devlib=0&typecnt=0&vercnt=4&catid=-1&impid=-1&formatcnt=1&libid=6&fileid=147598
The newest and older drivers will still have the "green lines"
I can play mpgs and mpeg2 fine, vob's dont work too well- because of the driver.
Hang on, need to mix a video...... ok Im back.
I rip my videos in avi/xvid format. If you want to play avi files, remove DIVX, install the Xvid codec. Leave the AVI codec set to "Video decoder"

Also make sure the videos are ripped with the Xvid or mpg codec. Double check the video driver in device manager shows version v.6.14.10.4410.

I see Video driver in device manager, but no version 6.14.10.4410, actually there is no numbers at all next to this.
It just says Video Codecs with a little speaker next to it
Do I need to dowload the one you suggested?

Yes download and install. You need to look under display adapters > intel for the version. I think you are in sound, videoand game controllers.
