Just trying to record a set and want to get "audacity" to attach to the output from virtual dj to record the set.
I can record through the laptops speaker input, but the sound quality really isnt that good.
Is there anyway to record virtual djs output, or must the sound output to a soundcard then go back through another soundcards input to record into "audacity"?
I have tryed to select the external soundcard in "audacity" and record in "audacity" but it does not want to record the output before it gets to the external soundcard?
Thanks,
Lee.

why not use the built in mp3 recorder to make a recording of your set ,
choose master to record the output of the software
if you are using a mic aslo choose master + mic
or if you are using an external mixer choose "line in" (plug the line out of the mixer into the line in )
press options choose where to save and what quality ect
then when you are ready press start recording and you are good to go

thankyou skyxfl, your expertise are much appreciated. Thankyou for answering all my other Q's, things are starting to worx alot better.
I cant understand though why i would use the master and mic, wont that record any sound that is going on around the laptop aswell.
If so than that is cool i will just use the master, cause i want it to be a demo cd and dont want any external sounds.
Thanks,
Lee.
