Hi Ive downloaded the Trial version of virtual DJ but am unable to get it to connect to my icecast server.
In other software i enter the address as www.xxx.yyy.zzz/live and supply a password and port info or in some cases specify the mount point as /live...however ive tried every combination i can think of in the trial version of VirtualDJ and its failing to connect each time. Is this just a limitation of the trial software or am i doing something wrong?
Secondly, I purchased a Hercules DJ Control MP3 second hand which is supplied with a copy of a special edition of VirtualDJ. However ive been unable to register the serial number against my profile on this web site as its already registered. Am I stuck with this or do you support resale of your bundled products?
Thanks

it needs an ip adress not a url to connect
look up the ip adress of your server
http://www.virtualdj.com/forums/59741/General_Discussion/The_Ultimate_Guide_to_Broadcasting_With_Virtual_Dj_).html
licences cannot typicaly be transfered
contact the seller and contact
support to see what can if anything be done
if not you will need to buy pro to use the console legaly with vdj
you can of course always purchase pro and use this licence right away and benifit from all the extra features
hope it gets resolved soon
Kind Regards
Simon

Thanks Simon for the suggestions, will contact support to see if anything can be resolved about the license will also contact the person who sold the Hercules box...
As to streaming...Im not sure i explained it well, im trying to relay via an icecast relay...Icecast has a concept of a mount point, mine is /live so in other software i specify the ip address of the server. the port, mount point and password.... However its unclear how to specify the mount point in VirtualDJ, the manual and guides you posted the link to dont mention one. Ive tried specifing the mount point at the end of the server address as in w.x.y.x/live but get a page not found when trying to connect...Without the /live i just get a generic error.
Thanks for any help you can give....
Regards

ah i see i dont belive virtual dj can understand the concept of a mount point
i think its built into the use virtual dj as server option
perhaps you should consider a shoutcast server instead
