any luck with disabling some background services?

I've got a vista laptop (it's only got a 1.86 GHz Pentium M in), and I've managed to get videos and everything working pretty well (no pops or cracles in the music) just by disabling everything that's not needed by virtual dj.
 
Last night I ran test of what may be causing the pops, crackles. If I used the MK2 I get the pops and cracks. I then put VDJ on auto 0db. The sounds is better and it change the result a little bit. I ran vdj without MK2 and did everything as usual and had no pops.

That's with video's

Audio wise - I sometime get the pops if I play a deep base song. So I usually turn down the gain.

Tonight before work, I'm going to try turning the computer volume down with 0db on VDJ. If this doesn't work then I may have to check all IRQs.

Yes, Caliente - I tried you method as well and it did not work for me. However, I will keep your method in mind and it to the final testing of all methods together
