sorry alf pfd50 has the same problem i have had for a while now just thought it was my gear it keeps saying words to the effect can't zoom into this level try zooming out....
this is why for a while now have been saying instead of the map why not just have the users county/region and country embedded there instead would make instant recognition of where the person you are talking to comes from and would save leaving the page and then coming back to it...what do you think of that idea...

At home on my Vista laptop with IE7, it doesn't work.
At work on my WinXP desktop with IE6 it works.
