Seeing as v5 is now out im going to treat myself to a new laptop as my old one is getting a bit road tired.
Seen this one, seems quite good spec for the price.....

is this for video mixing?
if so dont get this its not powerful enough if its just for audio thats ok
The recommended AUDIO ONLY , configuration is:
PIV 3 GhZ computer
1024x768 SVGA video
4.1 DirectX compatible soundcard (with front and rear separate outputs)
1024 MB RAM
200 MB free on the hard-drive
The recommended configuration to mix video is:
Dual Core 2 GhZ CPU
dual output ATI or nVidia video card with 1Gb of on-board memory (no integrated laptop videocard)
2048 MB RAM
if so dont get this its not powerful enough if its just for audio thats ok

Not going to be using much Video although i would be doing Karaoke occasionally with it.
I wasnt aware there were any video cards out yet with 1GB on them. what card would you reccomend if i go for a desktop instead bearing in mind the limited use

That can't be right I have yet to see a 1gb video card on a desktop never mind a Laptop. I would say 256mb would be minimum for Video and 512 would be safer.
I can run Video no problems on my MBP with only 256mb card, It does have 2g Ram though.
