the massive feeback of this wanted back, I'm sure Dev Teams sees.
Maybe its possible to add it as an option for 5.1 ;)

It could be as simple(well, dont know exactly what are involved of course), just make sure that this command works
Quote :
Enable automix on the active deck
<sc key="space" action="automix" chan="active" value="1" />

i hate automix period so hate or agree on me if you want on what im about to say:
-automixing isnt 100% acurate so you might need to do a little manual work to fix it sometimes to clean it up and by the way your going to throw it in the mix is very very important............ so you might as well count bars and do the whole thing right.
-dont be lazy, just mix it. by the waveforms already exposed you could easly do it, especially songs with the same bpm.
-if you want to leave the booth for short periods and keep the music going by automixing then your not a dj or not the right dj for that gig.
-djs who spin at clubs, bars , houseparties, etc. normally tries to make the profressional impression by clean mixing.
-if your really a good dj and you do this at gigs off and on then either the crowd doesnt care or the crowd is suffering.
-if you really need to auto pilot at a gig then play a file that is been allready have songs mixed, dont half ass it and automix a playlist.
-to those djs who dont know how to mix, LEARN IT. this is very important element and once you figured it out how to DO IT YOURSELF, you will understand the ART & experience the good feeling of SKILL. once you got it down you would rather mix songs then automix.
-and if you say you just dj only for fun and prefer the automix button then fine, u deserve it.
just dont ever consider or name your self a dj if your playing top 40 or mainstream because you will be critisized by the public. just be have fun.

I liked the idea of having an option for "classic" automix to use two decks again. I rarely use automix, reserved strictly for quick smoke breaks and system fixes (replacing lights, cables, etc.) I'm certainly not gonna sit here & judge anyone, to each their own & it's in VDJs best interest to make both sides of the arguement happy, best of both worlds;^]

it all depends where your at, just play a playlist in your case, thats fine. im hating on the microwaving autobeatmixing. -------hi jack deezzz parked in your grill --------- no ones trying to hurt you

I just tryed the new automix feature on my home test system. I still have 4.3 on my performance sys.
What the heck are you guys going on about?
It plays a song, fades out, fades in the next song.
I can still use it for pool tournamnet background music, or for dinner music.
and if I want to come out of automix I have a free deck.
This has a lot of possibilities.
It can simulate three decks if set up properly. (one sugestion)
You can use it for your interactions and so forth.
Could you tell me what the big issue is? Specifically?
It doesn;t skip anymore, doesn;t start 1/2 way into a song
The bugs that were there seem to be fixed
Good job I say.
Dev Team take a bow.

I haven't tried V5.0 yet first hand. I am still in the process of burning in my laptop with 5.0 (I have been running a 500 video automix for the past 15 hours with no lockups - good sign).
But from users comments here... I can definitely tell there are two things I am not going to like about the new automix:
- Since it only uses one deck... you cannot see the next track's fade in/out points. People here say "Well why don't you set those prior". Well the point being thats fine and dandy... but it still helps to be able to see where its going to fade in/out at. It makes you feel better to know that you already did set it if you can see it, instead of wondering "Did I set it?" and not get your answer until the track is already playing. Plus this is coming from a company (VDJ) who has had issues with their software in the past in regards to setting fade in/out points properly. Doesn't make me feel comfortable at all knowing I won't be able to see this anymore.
and
- From what people are saying.... if you are in the middle of mixing songs manually but something comes up where you have to throw on the automix... it won't play the next song you have queued up when you activate the automix. It plays the song after from what I hear. This is probably more of an annoyance than anything else... but still an annoyance.
The single deck is nice to have a deck free to preview songs. There have been plenty of times I would be running an automix and I wanted to preview new tracks (maybe I just got a Promo Only DVD that day). I would have to use the physical DVD decks to do this. Don't have to do that anymore with single deck automix.
With all that said... I really think it would be a nice compromise if the Dev team can make the single deck automix an option.

uuuhhh..guess I hit a sore spot...you're the one that said "come walk a mile in my shoes", I was just trying to take you up on it.
But you know what, I don't want to push this any further. It's no point in letting things get out of hand over a small issue like this.
The topic was "old automix back or not?" I say no, you say yes. End of story. As far as criteria for being a DJ a think we just have to agree to disagree.
If you feel you have some unsettled business which can't be aired on the forum, there's always the PM.

It was as you are asking it in the first betas but after a lot of tests and feedbacks, it was not the best way so the current system appeared

Although I think the new Automix is an improvement, I also think that it needs more improvement in terms of how it works and a few missing options, I imagine after all this noise that it will be considered by the team.

But why would these people want it to skip a track? That makes no sense really. Maybe I am wrong. Who knows. :-)

I think this was mentioned previously... but I am not sure.
Is there any way to set up the automix so it takes the played songs off the playlist? Isn't it kinda silly to keep the played songs on the playlist? What purpose does that serve?
I can definitely tell you one reason why its BAD to have this. Lets say I am in the middle of a long automix (a few pages of songs). Since the AUTOMIX NOW button no longer instantly mixes the songs... I have to double click the next available song to simulate this. Its kinda of a pain to have to scroll through a ton of already played songs to find the next song ready to be mixed to do an automix now.

You need to look at the Playlist menu choices -- there is an option on the menu to 'Remove Played'
So instead of wasting time scrolling simply remove the played file manually, how hard is that?
Also, the new playlist functions just like Windows Media Player, WinAmp, and most other media player applications - the files played stay in the list until you remove them. At least VDJ has given that to you in 1 menu choice. Don't see the need for a automatic remove played.
At Chuck... I think before you scream for a moderator you need to check you own comments... majority of your comment insight debate and not constructive dialog. Please no one comment or address this issue and please stay on topic which is a discussion on having the two deck automix.
