Hi
Just purchased Virtual DJ
But finding a few bugs with the software
1) Auto gain is all over the show with levels, both music dvds and DJ wav's
levels seem to alter 5-10 seconds after the track started with lots of other strange volume effects
2) when mixing dvd vob files im finding on some files when i load them i donot get the beat markers under the wave form
can anyone else coment on these errors, are they known about ???
regards john

Can you please post some of the configuration settings you are using?
What are your settings in your Config -> Options tab ...
Specifically - Auto Gain
You say Music DVDs - are you playing tracks straight from a DVD and not a hard drive?
And DJ wav's ? Are you talking about .wav files ?
What sound card are you using ?
What are your performance settings set to? Config -> Performance tab..
As I posted in one of your other threads, these are not errors in the software as they are performance issues between the software and your machine.
Please post some specs about the computer you are using and the O/S installed.

Hi
Cstoll
Sound card is soundblaster live 5.1
I have noticed this problem on all files but I am at the moment I am refering to single track VOB files from the hard drive Not DVD
Config setting is Auto gain
Performance is settings are:
performace bar : third from lefthand side
Latency box 512
safemode and overclock: both ticked
optimised for latency
thanks

Do you have auto gain set to ALWAYS ZERO
and at first ever play of a song, you need to wait all the way until its loaded up, before you press play (or else gain info is not calculated yet)
And about the speed of load, use registry tool from cel, and turn speedload on (if you have a fast pc)

That being said, I do feel VOBS are slighly worse for autogain than MP3s (that are usually spot on)
Might need some improvements

johnnysh - does that mean you are using the Always 0db option?
If so, then the first few seconds of softer sound is as Norway described:
How has everything else worked out...?

Did you scanned your tracks before play? Try that.

I notice the problem more with AC-3 encoded VOBs than straight stereo. Some of my AC-3 VOBs, the volume gets jacked waaaaaay up. Or is way too low.

About the 2nd bug: when mixing dvd vob files im finding on some files when i load them i donot get the beat markers under the wave form.
I had exacly the same result when doing this: I recoreded a mp3 with the balance-effect to the right channel , might have been to the left channel. When that recording was loaded I noticed the same. So I think the beat markers under the wave form are coming from just 1 of the channels. Maybe your files are the problem. If not, it could be a minor bug if the channel-theory is true.
