Should I go for an older Audigy creative card or the newer X-Fil and if so what one ?

and should the card be asio complient and what benifits do you get

i have a Audigy 2 ZS Platnum it has all the inputs i need on the card and off, some of the new x-fi's have that autosense jacks that will cause lacking of inputs and outputs,

on another note both cards are 109db @ 1 watt S/n ratio, and there both HD compliant

if you go for the X-Fi make sure it has plenty of inputs and outputs "dedicated jacks on the back"

and yep ASIO drivers work fine on both cards, not sure on how low the Latency will go on the X-Fi

as for the other sound cards i'll leave that for other people to post here with whats good.

I recommend the m audio delta 1010lt. It has all the ins & outs you could possibly need and performs excellent in the lowest latency settings. Very stable, reliable & quality card. I've got one on my timecode system & haven't looked back;^]

M-Audio is a great recommendation.
FORGET soundblasters please... do yourself a favor.

I like M-Audio also!

I have tried 8-10 sound cards.

some of them are
M-Audio Delta 44
ESI Maya44
ESI U46DJ
Rane SL-1
Numark VV sound card
Personus Firebox
NI Audio 8 DJ

Out of all of them, the best I have had so far is the NI Audio 8 DJ ;)

Very low latency, high quality sound. Rock solid drivers both on Vista and XP.

Not to mention the uber multicore cables you get with it, and the LED lights for input/out levels and connection status of cables. the huge grounding pole, usb cable hook and lots of other little things just to make it better.

Thanks for your feed back,

I think i will invest in the NI Audio 8 DJ

I have been reading some reviews and no one has a bad word to say about it... its not the cheapest of sound cards

But it looks value for money, and if it sounds as good as it looks .... Happy Days....

Thanks

Send me a PM and I'll tell ya where I found mine best price I've seen.

I must say the A8Dj is a very good investment if you ready to put down the cash. Have you checked out the U46Mk2 though?? Its a better price and ideal for Virtual DJ users. peace :)
