Gang -
Since the rewrite of the browser and database, I think this totally ROCKS. Now, here is my situation.....
Each week, I get an a CD or 3. Do my rip/encode and then assign to a temp folder. Run a MP3 dupe scan and discard the inferior quality file.
Sometimes this is the new rip or sometimes might be in the library.
What this means is I am adding 25 or so songs weekly and out of that 25, some current (READ: in the database) are being either deleted or updated. Others are just plain added.
Second - There are times when I have to tidy up a tag. Then the date/time stamp is changed.
What is the best course of database scan/recurse/add to search db/etc should I perfom? I update the master library and replicate across my backup drive and gig rig. So far, I remove from search db and then add to search db (entire MP3 folder) then do a recurse.
Clone the folder to destination and then copy the XML in drive root. So far, seems to work fine.
Any advice? Oh, is there a way to specify the location of that file? if not, no biggie.
Thanks gang!

Well, I think I found a strategy that works.
Very minor library updates, just prune/fix/tag scan and done.
After a somewhat major update session, just rename the XML and create a new one - build the tags/recurse as needed. Replicate the MP3 library across my LAN and also copy the XML file.
I also noticed the foresight of local folder NOT in the program it self. That way I can keep track of all history and not have it overwritten.
Very cool.
