Topic: Phono-Pre-amp needed for Timecoded vinyl??

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

I already have a great setup. but i want to extend it by getting 2 turntables and 2 pieces of TC-vinyl.

i searched the forum on the keyword 'timecoded', but there is no single toppic that describes the need for a phono pre-amp. (probably because you don't need one?)

I was wondering because a phono-signal is weaker than a line-signal. If you connect a line-source to a phono-input, you probably blow yer speakers :-s.

so, do i need a phono-pre-amp between the turntables and soundcard to use timecoded vinyl or not? can anyone confirm this?

You don't need a pre-amp, vdj has its own RIAA filter so there is no need for an amp, if you have one you can offcourse use it.

if you are planning on using the TCV bypass mode, a phono preamp is esseential...

No, this is not true.
The software RIAA preamp is used.
I've tried it and it works.
I had only to adjust the input levels of my maya to avoid
clipping.
