Topic: Turntables and Time Coded Vinyl HELP!!!

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

Hey guys, i have been using the VDJ trial, and im in love with it!
I'm buying some turntables tomorrow (numark TT1550) Yes i know they are belt drive and crappy but they are only $100 for both with a mixer! i'll only use them to practice, and buy direct drives when i save up enough money.

Anyways, i will be purchasing VDJ pro tomorrow and TCV's as well, but before i do so i wanted to know if the TCV's will work?

Do i need special needles or something? How does the computer read the TCV if there is no connection to it? sorry for the dumb questions guys.

So will i be ok with just 2 turntables, a mixer, TCV's and VDJ pro, or do i have to purchase something for the TCV's to work???

Thanks so much guys!!!!

you need a soundcard with dual stero inputs such as the maya 44 usb or the u46dj

Or the Herc Mark II!

I have some rather cheap HomeMix turntables -they cost me over £100 - cheap in comparison to those expensive ones - but they seem to work well with TCVs and the Mark II.

Thanks for the advice!

So are you saying that TCV's wont work without an external sound card? I cant just use it with the soundcard built into my laptop?

No.. U need 2 stereo in n 2 stereo out soundcards such as the above mentioned:)

first off.. that sound card sucks .. i have it in a box ... for you to use the turn tables ( more then one) you will need a new sound card... if you want to see whats its like with only a single record player going yes you can use the one import input in the lap top.... I have done both.. the time code records work on a asio driver program.. Most music stores like axe or any company that deals in audio mixing will have one... you can find them on ebay as well... time code records are incredible... when i set up clubs they buy the entire system and all dj's i have shown it to have bought it.... just realize that if your lap top has a fire wire port you can use a few different sound cards..

Are you using a laptop or desktop computer? If using a desktop check out the delta 1010lt, it'll serve you well and costs the same as the u46dj with way less problems and way more options (though there is a registry setting that must be changed). If a laptop, the u46dj is pretty good, though I'm sure there are better ones available;^]

The U46Mk2 is the sound card of choice to operate Virtual DJ. It's pro enough with a good build and sound quality but it's still at a great price. You should use driver version 1.0.16 for best results. peace
