I had a problem wiht an external hard drive, so I managed to copy its content to another one. I noticed even thought I didnt rename or move anything, only a few song were analyzed, but the covers are still there. Any tips? (I'm using vd 5 rev2)

did you remember to copy the database XML in the root of the old drive to the new drive?

That will make VirtualDJ 5 (only version 5.x) see all the songs as before.

And if you did, try go to Browser tab in VDJ, and choose FIX for the drive in question

Rune I'm trying to do the same thing. I have all my music analyzed on my gig HD. I just bought another HD and copied all my files to it. I am going to hook it up to my home computer (not my Macbook Pro) but when I do only about a 3rd of the videos are analyzed. I copied my xlm database from my gig HD and transfered it to my new HD. Should I be doing something else?

1) Copy your files from HD1 to HD1 - TO SAME PATH (use same folders)

2) Copy the XML file in the root of HD1 to HD2

3) Go to browser tab in VDJ, and choose FIX for the new HD2 drive

That should work fine (in theory.... )

Cant see why it shouldnt work though, as the XML is just a file with the path to the songs locally on the drive, with info such as bpm gain etc.

Thanks. I did it the 1st time and it didn't work for some reason (maybe I didn't copy and paste right, not use to windows). Well it works now. Thanks Rune :-)

Hi. Since I've installed VISTA ultimate, I've lost all the tags on the songs already played. It seems that Atomix is rebuilding a new internal database. I have a copy of the previous one but it doesn't seem to work. Thanks for anyhelp cause with my 11.100 songs it will take time to mark my favotite one as already played. Is it a problem with th internal database?
Thanks and it is Urgent

Vista is just different, and VDJ compensate that by putting VDJ database in My Documents.

It works great, and hopefully you'll get a legal full verson soon, and all the aid you want here :)

here's what I did :)

It might take more time than the other methods, but I actually plugged in both hard drives and opened vdj, selected my favorite folders from both hard drives and just copied the anayzed files from one to another. No need to fix the database! Though it took me several minutes to copy the files.

when i open virtual dj i get a message stating that my internal database is corrupted. i uninstal vdj and reinstalled it. still getting the same problem. i have had this new desk top for about two months now and it seems to have been working fine. please help.
