I'm waiting on one of these to come in http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=290145767243&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=019

I bought it mainly for a wireless adapter for my sony desktop and as a hotspot finder, but now I'm noticing it has "Wireless Access Point" built into it as well. My question is, can I run this on a computer in a network that is only wired and transmit with it a wireless signal for my laptop, or does it still have to transmit from anotrher wireless point?

The reason I ask is because I'm doing that gig at the clubhouse NOV. 1st, which doesn't have a wireless network but I believe they do have a wired network. So that would be a big help obviously if I can do it that way. Once again thanks in advance for your help;^]

it means if you have a laptop wired to a network and a proxy installed ,

the laptop now acts like a hub

for other laptops

i wount recomend this however if you want a wireless network get a wireless router

Thanks for that info. I've already got a couple wireless routers, I'm just wondering if this way would be easier than having to set up the router. I can borrow an extra laptop if I need too, but as it turns out it's gonna be a moot point for this gig as they're not allowed to share staff network with member computers. Oh well, if I'm lucky there will be a hotspot there, but either way I've still got a month to grab member requests;^]
