Topic: how to restore virtual folder tunes...getting error

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

Hey guys,
I was installing some new tunes and somewhere along the line my virtual folders songs I have had set no longer link to the correct location.
I am still using 4.3 ver and I really dont have time to redo all the tunes for just my virtual folders,Wedding gig this friday..arrghhh pissed at myself
at the moment.
Is there a way of getting them to locate the location quick? or am I screwed

Thanks

ANYONE? basicly the file info on the links in the virtual folder somehow are not pointing to where the music is now.
And what really ticked me off is I dont know what the heck I did that affected the location of my music.
I had to make a new favorite folder for my music..that I know I did only because somehow my browser folders changed a bit after I went back in to VDJ .

Can these links be reestablished without deleting the v folders and starting from scratch?

Fraid I'm not totally sure what's happened here, but I know the vdj database can lose a file association if you change the tags (and that changes the file size and screws things up).

I think there's more support for this kind of stuff in the new version 5 (can cope with tag changes, etc).

Hopefully a few more people in the know will see this with a few more replys.

well what I need to know "is there a way to reestablish" the path of the existing playlist in my virtual folder to where my songs are now located.
Somehow they no longer see where they were before..hence the ERROR.
I want to get all of them ALL at once to see where the music folder is without having to delete the folder and redo each song individually.

Its starting to look like I might have to...

Thats a good question i need to know the same thing. I have an external hard drive that read f drive on my cue program i was tranfering some music to my friends hard drive one day and when i was done my hard drive turned into G drive and all the music i had in my playlist no longer worked it said error because the drive changed so is there some way too restore this playlist or do i have to do this whole (2000 songs) thing over again?

All this is sorted in VDJ 5, as it keeps the database on SEPERATE drives, on for each drive, so even if the drive letter change, there will be no issues. You can even hot swap a drive during a gig, and the virtualfolders and files, will auto show.

But, on your older versions, you need to manually fix it , if things got corrupted (paths).
Open the XML database in WordPad or similar, and change the drive letter to the correct one

its on the new version my history won't play it says error
