For an external USB drive, is the only difference of using a 7200 RPM (vs 5400 RPM) the time it will take to load the video to the player? In other words, once it's loaded, the hard drive speed is irrelevant?
Also... is there a popular model (~500 GB) that has shown to work well with VDJ?

Speed of hard drives (internal or external) is very important with video as the video is streamed off the hard drive during play. Only the audio track is ever loaded in memory. So if you were only doing audio I would say 'yes' speed wouldn't matter - but in this case (video) it does make a difference.

Very easy to notice, watch the hard drive access lights when playing video VS audio.
