I can't believe how big harddrives have become over the last year or so, and how much they've come down in price aswell.
I think you got a good deal there.

that's the best price i've heard ........
speakin' of prices ...... i really think for Christmas there will be amazing prices this year on many things including computers and peripherals ..... i think the retailers are running scared right now ...... it's been a tough year and the big back to school hit never happened , so that means Christmas will be even more important .......

Yeah, thats what I paid for my 500gb 7 or so months ago. Is it Firewire 800 though? I need to get a new drive soon but want to stay with firewire.

Man, I remember back in the early 90s when multimedia first came out and there was only a small MB harddrive. I guess people didn't have any info back then that they needed storage for.... NOW, almost 20 years later, we need more storage for information that we apparently didn't have back then. If you think about the average person stores what? music and videos... Why, because we need to be entertained at all times. Kids don't play in the park or street sports anymore. They watch TV or play highend video games. Even the video games come with at least 20g hdd for storage of saved games. How much games do you need at one time?
Sorry for the rant... It just amazes me that technology has increased that much to indulge the average persons need to be entertained and away from the spoken word of the person next to us.
NOW - with that being said I'm off to purchase the TB drive at bestbuy

those huge drives over 500GB are risky.
rather get 2 500GB for $100 each from newegg.
1TB is nice but too new right now. ... how u gonna back up all that info. 2 500GBs are cheaper and safer than one 1TB for now.
