Ok i cannot get a sample to beatmatch my decks. I thought it was because the TCCD. I unplugged everything (just playing around with the laptop now) I have checked loop & beatmatch and its not working. what am i missing here?
If i understand right the sample shoud be able to change bpms automatically with the song thats currently playing, correct?

Ok this is what ive figured out so far, VDJ will beatmatch files with the extension of .vdj but not .mp3, is this accurate? this is the case in my equipment. Now i prefer to use audacity to edit my loops. anyone?

your right
virtual dj only has beat profiles on .vdj files
if you want to make ur mp3s into vdj
you play the sample on one of the decks and then manually set their bpm
and then click on jingle or loop in the samples window to record it with its bpm
but otherwise
no bpm :(

that licks man! i tell you people its a conspiracy! next thing you know we will find out the dev team has a monopoly on crude oil, im warning you people!!!! Remember i said it fisrt! !!!!! relax im being sarcastic, dont go out and start planning a rally against the dev team! lol

Kill the Dev Team.

ok here goes the rally!

.vdj = .ogg convert the samples :) to .ogg

then rename it

The best way to use samples as beat loops is this.

Make sure before you record the loop, the cbg is properly set. It uses the cbg to align the beat with the current playing track. Of course, if the current playing track does not have the proper cbg alignment, It's not gonna sound right. Here's what I do.

I modified my skin with two additional buttons ( I found that assigning kbd shortcuts does not work);
btn 1 = adjust the cbg -4(right click adjust the cbg +4) as the track is playing
btn 2 = adjust the cbg -1(right click adjust the cbg +1) as the track is playing

During my mix, I have a track playing, I want to use a instrumental as a sample, I load the instrumental on deck 2, make sure the beats are matched 9 (by listening).
Adjust the cbg so that both tracks have same cbg positions.(make sure the deck with the inst is selected.
Loop the instrumental over 16 or 32 beats and record the inst sample and youre done with the inst sample.
I load the next track and beat match it with the current playing track and adjust the cbgs to match. Now the two track and the sample can be mixed with the right cbg.

It might sound complex but it not that hard. And with VDJ's improved bpm engine, you might not have to do much. I don't beat match jingles.
