Topic: Sound Cards ??? (what one ??? Hummm)

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

Hi

at the moment trying to sort out a good video card and sound card.... video thats another problem...

But sound, well i thought i would try the new soundblaster x-fi card (£120 worth), well I have taken it back it was crap
Ok if you like bad sounding mp3's as it has a new crystaliser IC technology to improve the sound of crappy mp3s.

But I don't like mp3 all my collection are wav's of the original recordings, can't see the point of down grading the original recoding.

So the I feel creative have now gone down the cheap route of pleasing the mas who like mp3's, i.e. trying to make crappy quality sound better wich is a real shame, the Audigy 2/4 sound cards I thought sounded quite ok.

I have always like a unique feature with creative cards of base and treble control on the windows mixer, it just gives that little extra kick on the eq, but don't want all these new feture in x-fi range.

Have steared away from studio cards cos the sound to clinicle (VERY FLAT) like the Maudio etc. But in my heart feel this is the way I should be going.

So do I go for older audigy 2/4 card which I can only get second hand now or can any one else suggest a good card, don't much favour usb cards.

Also have never been able to get virtual DJ working of the multiple line sockets on the back of a sound blaster card, i.e. left deck on one sock and right deck on the other.

Tried evey combination with the new xfi card before taking it back, do you need two sound cards fitted i.e. one for each deck.

any advice will be greatly appreciated

regards

John

yeah i hear that mainly cause creative lables channels a lil different
and VDJ config is 1&2 then 3&4 on 1 card only when running asio mode when using timecode(s)
use to be a config that allowed separation of each channel but that was an older vdj version.
now it's setup for common channels, and creative is a hard product to configure correctly.

sounds great, until you go asio and use TCV's, i'd look into pro audio for sound cards for internal otherwise go with suggested cards with low latency

i'd advise ya but i have yet to find an internal card that meets my picky requirements for VDJ use
