Hi. I want to know if it matters if the rca and usb cables are really long. I want to have my laptop behnd me in the dj booth so people dont spill drinks on it. If its behind me i have to have a long usb cable that stretches all around the dj booth. Does this matter in regards to speed of timecode detecting and sending the signal back to the mixer etc?
I would greatly appreciate it if someone would shed some light on this for me. . .
Thanks, Ben

for usb depends on the hardware the shorter the better
as for rca degratation only starts to ocur at 100m

if he puts his computer 100m away by the end of the night he might die from being so tired

I would still recommend to keep all cables as short as possible, just to lower the risk of potential cable breakage.
This most important thing with the RCA is that you have good connectors which transports the signal well (when using TCV/TCCD) so you don't get any signal loss.
