i am trying to make a music video using vdj.. how do I record what ever Im mixing? I only get audio but not the video... is there some way of recording both?

i would suggest you hook yourself up to a seperate dvd recorder for best results, splitter from vid out to vid in and output from mixer(record or booth to lines in on recorder) for best results...hope that helps
