Dear All,
I have a question about connection my mixer to my PC.
here is the situation.
i have a regular onboard sound card with 3 outputs line-out / line-in/ mic.
Now i would like to connect my 2 chanel mixer with virtual DJ and have the abillity to record everything that i do on the mixer.
i really have no idea how to make the connections between the two devices.
can someone please give some adivce hw to connect the devices.
i prefer some drawings to get the brightest view :)
thanks in advance,
Kind regards Danny

Hi there you require a card like the maya 44 usb , mk2 dj console , vv or u46 dj to allow you to do this
you can then record the track via the line in of the internal card.
you can then record the track via the line in of the internal card.

didnt he just say that he has 3 outputs (im assuming stereo) and line-in? thus i will assume this means he has a 5.1 surround card...
yes, it will work for you. put vdj into 4.1 surround mode.
you will need three 1/8" jack (headphone) to RCA adaptors and 3 stereo RCA cables
connect one adaptor and RCA cable from soundcard-FRONT to channel 1 of mixer
connect one adaptor and RCA cable from soundcard-REAR to channel 2 of mixer
connect one adaptor and RCA cable from mixer MASTER OUT to laptop-LINE-IN
in vdj, in the recording section, depending if you want to broadcast or just record, set the input to the soundcard LINE-IN...
And thats all it takes.... There is actually a guide with an image somewhere in this forum.. not sure where though.

whoops, sorry i may have misread that.
did you say you have
a) 3 outputs/line-out/line-in/mic
b) 3 outputs: line-out/line-in/mic
the first one being 3 + 1 + 1 + 1... I think you mean b), so disregard my post, sky is correct.
never tried using a secondary sound card. the way i look at it, you need to buy another one how, and even for a cheap price you can still get one sound card that does it all for you...

Do you have firewire and are you using a tower or a laptop?
USB is WAY over priced right now for these A/D audio interfaces. Firewire is a bit cheaper but PCI (short slot) is the best solution if available. I picked up a Maya 44 PCI for $41 off of eBay just last night.
Two sound cards do work but they most likely won't be true ASIO and they will have latency. I remember YEARS ago that was the only way to make it work, two sound cards.
If you must go the 2 x Sound card route go to eBay and get yourself a USB interface. they will cost you $10 with shipping. They only have a line out and a mic in and they arn't the best but until you are ready to make the investment that is a simple and cheap solution. Let's face it, when a A/D card casts as much as a new CDX it would be kinda silly to pass up on true hardware. A CD-MP3 system will work better than all software simply because you won't need a monitor lol
