Last night was the first time I broadcasted with VDJ with less than epic fail results. Hooray!. The solution, throw Windows Vista in the trash. I dusted off my PowerMac G5 and ran VDJ 5 on that. It is touchy when I'm broadcasting, ie if I try to do *anything* but play music (ie change preferences, etc) VDJ5 will crash, but if I just play the music (including effects, scratching, loops, etc) it works stellarly.
Plus, being on the mac, restarting VDJ is wicked fast so even a crash is not something that is completely fatal. Hell, I can bounce that box completely in well under 30 seconds.
So, my whole-hearted recommendations to those users who are using VDJ5 on Vista is to just give up and get a Mac! Just think now nice one of those little Mini's with a LaCie external firewire hard drive would fit into a road case...
Happy Trails!
