Again buried in the previous pages.
Just download and install the software. You do not need to uninstall anything. And no you will not lose information.

Cstoll,
I've read something about copying the xml file before upgrading. If this is correct can you explain step by step?
Thanks for the upgrade!!!!!!!!!!!!

i dont know which side of the fence i'm on with the waveform.
it really was convenient to have where it was large enough to see clearly and without much eyestrain (6-7 hours of staring at a screen tends to make the occasional headache or two)
on the other hand i've been so distracted by the other new stuff that i havent been able to do anything other get a little snippy with the screen when i'm trying to see it.
if there was an option to increase it's size i wouldnt complain, but i wont hold my breath.
overall, i'm a happer camper about now.
thanks guys

I just wanted too let everyone know. I have been giving this issue about the smaller progress bars some thought. I have come up with this solution for fixing it. If enough people like this I will suggest it too the Dev Team for the HE5 skin. This is a pannel that you will be able to toggle on or off. This of course will only work with Auto mix. Showing what is playing on top and what is in ram waiting to play.

"FORMAT, FORMAT HE'S OUR MAN! IF HE CAN'T SKIN IT NO ONE CAN!"
but why just in automix?
keeping in mind that i cant write code, and wouldnt know where to start, i'm gonna ask the proverbial dumb question - wouldnt it be easier to make one that could be toggled on and off while the program was running and not just while the automix was running?
(btw - you're skins are the shizznit! i dont use them at work {yet}... but they're the only ones i'll use at home.)

I think as far as the waveform goes (and people are just going to have to get used to it.) is because of the new engine you are getting a more accurate representation of the waveform. The way the waveform looks actually conforms to way the song sounds.

Oh another question maybe.
All of my MP3's have an ID3 2.3 tag with Artist, Title, Date, Genre, Comment and Key. If i reanalyse all of my songs, does VDJ show its own analysed result in the browser or does it still take it from the ID3?
And what should i trust? Mixmeister key scanning or VDJ key scanning? :)

hehe. That is another good question. Only the users will be judges. Some will prefer the Mixmeister results, others the VirtualDJ ones and some other advanced users will use both to get the best results ;-)

User Judgement is as follows:
I re-run the bpm machine for most of my files last night and I would like to report that it was 96.2% correct on most of them.... a difference of .005 digits not withstanding from the tag value acquired from Mixmeister.
One of the differences is that vdj will try to keep everything at sometimes half what the value in mixmeister is so you'll end up with a lot of files between 60 - 100 in vdj whereas in mixmeister you'll have upwards of 60 to 200.....I don't know if this is by design but I like it since I don't have to 'remember' that I need to halve the no. in-order to mix..Think of it this way, if you're playing a 98(bpm) song and you see a 200(bpm) song, the tendency is to look for another song esp. if pressed for time, so even though it's always been like that, my reason for using mixmeister was to get correct bpm's and I don't have to worry about that. I still have the mixmeister bpm on tag though for that 3.8%.............rock on

The DevTeam has indeed come up with a very good and stable product. I have been in to harmonic mixing for some time know and I am happy to see that this feature is included.
Now, the challange. This far I have failed to hack my favorite skin to include key/camelot data when I play a tune. I can see it in the folder view but If you have +45.000 tunes and like to improvise it would be beneficial to see the actual key of the song you're playing iwhen you're looking to find a tune that fits the key/bpm of the song that is being played. I'll keep trying...
