A few weeks ago I've asked the Virtual DJ staff:

Is it possible to control the pre-listening player with keyboard shortcuts to load marked
song into, play and stop and searching. Maybe you know how it works in Alcatech's BPM-Studio
there you can Start/Stop playing currently marked title via space bar and while it play's you can search in the title using the arrow keys (left/right).

I don't like the actual controlling with mouse (right click on title, click on listen, then click on player to get the focus and at least click on play and searching with the slider.

and they answered me:

there are no such keyboard shorcut option as of today.

But please ask for it as a new feature at the "new feature" forum, and the Dev Team might fix this for you :) It seems like a good idea

In BPM-Studio is no extra window for the player, the've integrated it on the bottom of Track- and Playlist like a status bar.

so this is my "wish" for future versions of Virtual DJ. I think this is a very useful new feature for the most of us DJ's.

regards DJ Andi

Agree. Keyboard shortcuts are welcome in general.

There is a "fixed" shortcut for pre-listen : control+enter
But i agree the little player must be integrated to the gui and not a pop-up style player.

Right now you can avoid the mouse usage like this:
- Up/down to select a track
- control+enter to open the little player
- Space bar to play the song (on active channel)
- Alt+f4 to close the preview player.

I'm one of the biggest "mouse haters"... on this forum...

Btw. pre-listen is not working in Low latency/timecode mode
(a known bug)
