I would like very much to see this feature implemented in VDJ.
I , for example,like to see Author column first and then Title column.

Yes i also think it sometimes get confusing. I have also other related problem, which could be solved by renaming all files. VDJ/AtomixMP3 show like:
Title: Madonna-American Life Author:a1
(where a1 is vinyl side)
I do not like idea of getting the name from ID3 tag, but there should be possibility to customize the Title/Author display to read Your file format, not to force you to rename to S.Clavel's format.
