Thanks again so much, and the reason I was asking was because I was getting mixed messages from other sites on the matter.
Serves me right from trusting other forums (I know my own fault).
Thanks again Cestoll for the answer to my query, your a star.

Well - my answer doesn't necessarily mean that people won't change their minds.
But they were pretty direct about it and Pioneer is not typically one to just increase a feature set of a product that would halt or slow 'up sell' potential to another one of their own products.

Is there a way I can use two cdj900 decks to control four decks on virtual dj.
Inviato Tue 26 Jul 11 @ 5:46 am
Hey, i came up with some equipment, 2x CDJ900 and DJM800.
Im using this setup:
Inputs: Timecodes
Outputs: External mixer
Sound card: Asio Driver, Pioneer CDJ ASIA
i keep getting this message : Error in the ASIO sound driver: Not enough channels.
how to fix this and does this even matter, i haven't seen it ''yet'' making any difference. btw, abit offtopic: is it possible to connect Korg Kaoss Quad pad with this setup, if so how?

Do you want to use your Cdj 900 only in Timecode ? because you can use it in MIDI
Set your sound settings in CONFIG -> Sound Setup to the following:
Inputs: None
Outputs: External Mixer (Deck 1 Chan 1&2 / Deck 2 Chan 3&4)
Sound card: ASIO -> Pioneer ASIO
Click APPLY.

thanks, fixed. i also have this silly problem, my decks are not on the same side with VDJ decks, it doen't matter much but its annoying, how to fix this lol ?
Inviato Tue 02 Aug 11 @ 6:40 pm
Go to Config>mappers> (click on the icon to the right of the drop down) >deck assignment. You will be able to allocate Deck 1 or 2 to different players in VDJ

Delete the DDJ-S1 files from the Documents\VirtualDJ\Devices and Documents\VirtualDJ\Mappers folders - you do not need to download any other mappings.
After you delete files and start VirtualDJ - the unit should be recognized.

The 'visual' is actually normal because the CDJs use frames and VirtualDJ sends milliseconds. This is only a visual artifact not a performance issue.

Problem with CDJ-2000 and VDJ.
I have a problem using CDJ-2000 with VDJ. The CDJs play fine CDs and I can switch to PC and it works also fine with VDJ; but when I want to switch back to CDs, it doesn't work (it's funny because i see the tracks of the CD but when I press Play, it launches the VDJ player and the sound from VDJ !!).
I use VDJ 7.0.5b on my PC and the last Pioneer driver (1.102) and the CDJs firmware is also the last one (4.04). It's strange because one night, i used cdj-2000 with firware 4.0 or 4.01 and i have had no problem (but where can i load these old versions ? to make some tests).
I have heard a lot of users that have similar problems with all the new line of Pioneer CDJs (350, 850, 900 and 2000).
I am still using CDJ-400 and i have never had a single problem like this with it. This is for me the perfect combinaison but Pioneer has stop the CDJ-400, so I think it's important that Pioneer gives a firware that perfectly works for the 2000,900,850,350.
Sorry for my bad English (typically French), and hope to find a fix because now, all the clubs are installing CDJ-2000.
Good mix

The 350 and 850 had an update 1.0.6 and this issue has now been sorted with them now. Try asking Pulse about it on the Pioneer forum, as I ain't seen him on here for a long time.

Hi Ianmelville,
I saw this new firware (1.06) for CDJ 350 & 850. This firware was released the 7 july and the firware 4.04 of the CDJ-2000 is a little bit older (1 june).
Happy to see that the firware has fix the problem for the cdj 350 & 850.
Now I hope that Pioneer will quickly give a fix (with a new firmware) for the CDJ-2000.
I will try to reach Pulse on the Pioneer forum
Thanks

I just updated one of my 2000's to 4.04 and I don't seem to have the problem you are reporting.
Make sure when you switch from Link (HID) mode to CD you press the track select knob to finalise your mode switching.
If the track select knob is not pressed you will still be controlling VDJ via HID.
Seems like I'm stating the obvious here as you have been using the software and CDJs for awhile on earlier firmware version.
Hope this helps.
Are you using the CDJs for your audio device?
I'll do some more test and let you know how this goes.

Ok, I've done a few more test regarding your HID issue and I can not recreate this problem.
My system works fine running CDJ firmware 4.04
I can switch between HID (software control) and CD no problem.
Test system is as follows.
Dell laptop i7 win 7 pro 64bit sp1
Cue/ VDJ 7.05
Pioneer driver 1.102 test sound from the CDJ and I have also run a Virtual box
CDJ2000 4.04
Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
Good luck

Can anybody point me in the right direction to configure Virtual DJ with 2 Pioneer CDJ-350's and a Pioneer DJM-350 Mixer?
