You will need a MIDI capable mixer to do this. An ordinary audio DJ mixer cannot control the software in any way.

I have a question.

I have 2 CDJ-900s + DJM-700 + Macbook Pro (Snow Leopard) + VDJ 6.1. Now when I tried to record a mix using the HID set up (Do consider that I have set up the aggregate sound output and did all the proper config for my DJ set), the output sounds work accordingly and properly. However, once I'm done recording, the RESULT was giving overlapping output sounds on both of the PLAYING sound as well as the CUE sound.

My biggest concern is being able to record properly. I've talked to VDJ technical support and according to this person, I NEED to have an external sound interface for me to RECORD properly. Is that true?

If it is true, I've recently purchased an Echo audiofire 2 sound interface. I set it up accordingly, d/l the timecode mp3 from this website, and yet my timecode debug do not recognize any signal. Perhaps I miss a step or didn't do something right along the way. Anyone can and willing to help me to set it up to its accord, please?

Please help me as I am trying to record my promo mix by this Saturday. Thank you!

You can not use the VirtualDJ Record features if you are using an External Mixer ... you have to use an external recording solution.

So does that mean it was pointless for me to even purchase the Echo Audiofire 2 (Of course in term of recording a mix that is)?

Could I just buy a digital recorder instead?

How's the sound quality for the ikey portable recorder? Also do you know if VDJ will work out the recording issue with the HID interface?

@superbmatter > What you need to do is assign outputs from VDJ to go to the mixer then be sure to set your software inputs coming FROM the mixer's master output so you can record the master signal. Even if you have to use a 3rd party audio recording software (such as the free Audacity), you haven't wasted your money.

Using macbook pro latest model with latest version of virtual dj,trying to load waveform on CDJ 2000'S mapper not working for me.I also had a hard time setting up the audio for both players, had to set up one as aggressive device is that the correct way or should it actually work with both CDJ 2000'S listed.

Please if anyone can reply to this PULSE perhaps. The waveform on the CDJ2000 does not load - there is not any support for this in the CDJ2000 firmware.

The connection of the CDJ2000s should be done as an aggregate device with 4 outs, then use VirtualDJ settings of External Mixer with the soundcard option of 4-out card.

Thank you for the help

Hi all,
My current setup is 2 CDJ400s and DJM800, all connected to VDJ6, runing XP via bootcamp (cuz video is still beter in win than on mac)
i'm really interested in buying the new DJM2000, besides the sampler, effects and cool touch screen, what other benefits it has over the djm800?
what else can i do with in using VDJ? how can i take advantage of the built in csoundcard? just need some oppinios and ideas befor i make the move and buy one. (remember i'm not planning to go cdj2000 too, i love my small cdj400s)

thanks in advance.
omry

if I were you, I only would change your CDJ-400 in CDJ-900 and I would keep my DJM-800.
I know the DJM-800 in fact I use it in night club and I would never change it.

If your problem is a MIDI controller, you can buy the NI Kontrol X1.
This is my own opinion.

i have a question here....how can i connect the followings stuff....djm 800 pionners, cdj 400, and virtual dj 5.2 pro? for use to mix videos, i was usualy use vsm 1000 and dvj 1000, so now i have this shipper hardware...thank you for the support

First, you will need to purchase VirtualDJ Professional http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html - This will give you the latest v6.1 version (v5.2 is out of date and there have been many changes and improvements since then.)

You will then need also need a suitable ASIO sound card with 4 inputs and 4 outputs such as Hercules DJ Trim, Native Instruments Audio 4 DJ, etc.

Timecode CD's can be created yourself using the file downloadable from http://www.virtualdj.com/products/timecode/cd.html - Simply use your CD writing software to burn a couple of audio CD's using this file.

Setup instructions and a diagram can be found on page 9 of the quick start guide: http://www.virtualdj.com/images/pdf/VirtualDJ6-SetupQuickGuide.pdf

Hey Hardware Forum/ Pioneer Professionals,

I'm looking to upgrade from Hercules RMX to CDJ's and a Mixer. I Recently seen a Pioneer DJM800 and (2) CDJ 1000 for a really good price. Before
making a spontaneous purchase, is this Hardware compatible/recommended for VDJ (from experienced users)?? I know the web-site says it is, but is
this recommended by any of you who have experience with this type of Hardware?? Besides this, will I need an additional sound card, like my Pre-
Sonus Firebox?? I would really like to take advantage of this Great Deal, but will stay away if head-aches are in my near future.

Thank You All.
