The Denons have large jogs and they are great if you are a scratch dj. You will feel at home if you use technics 1200s. The decks have Midi and a usb connection for thumb drives. Over all its a good deck. I dont know about any cons..

U Know ... a toy is a toy ... Denon Jogs are Bad for scratch , they have direct drive (wrong decision) - The JOg is not like a Technics TT , the JOg is good if you turn OFF the motor . The sound when you try to do a scratch is BADDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD , there's nothing in the world like a good TT for scratch (and they are cheaper ) ...If you don't know how to do a scratch or you don't need to do it ... just turn off the platter and use it like a Pioneer Cdj -

Sorry , I\'m not agree , denon 3700 aren\'t like a TT , never !!! . They try to emulate BUT THEY CAN\'T .
Numark Cdx is another history , you can say this cd player is like a TT & you are right .
BUt not denon .
I have 2 denon 3700+
2 TT technics M5g
2 Cdj 1000 Pioneer . I touch them every day ,this is my setup :
Don't get me wrong . Denon are good enought for play with MIDI + Vdj but the JOgs are not good if you use them with platter ON .

Man-Tk ... have you ever bothered to change the sensitivity settings in the Config -> Options tab ?? You might be surprised at what you can get if you make the changes to what fits your style.
The jogs are not that bad .. and with the Sensitivity settings you can adjust VirtualDJ to respond to your style and touch.

I am a scratch dj and my friends are also. Im am using the 3700's with Serato because my macbook pro & virtual vinyl and the soundcard doesn't show up in config settings... When im using it with serato or cd's, the responce is very good. Im not saying to get serato, im just saying that the denons jog's responds really nice. To really test the hardware, you have to use it with audio cd's. If the responce with audio is better than using time code cd's.. Then you know its not the Denon decks. Its the software.. (You need some adjustments) The pioneer scratches good but the active platter on the 3700's and the size feels good. Its comforatble to use..
Pioneers are better when it comes to blending because its very precise. You can fine tune your mixes & responce is great. The denons are good also, its alittle behind but not far. As far as the scratching, i like the denons more. Hip hop djs come to my house to use my equipment and they like the feel of the jogs.
One more thing, The denons have 2 screws in the middle of the platter.. If you make them loose where it doesnt feel firm trying to tighten them, now try scratching and see how great it feels.

BUt it's ok ...I use 3700's everyday for MIdi ... I like them but with the platter off -

I have a pair of the s-3700's and a Toshiba Qosmio computer. They perform flawlessly with Virtual DJ. Of course your setting have to be right. The video and audio scratch perfectly.
All the buttons and special effects, loops, etc, on the players work through Virtual.
It is a lot of fun!
Finally I can spin like I'm on turntables without having to lug around 13 crates of LP's, and no more low end feedback through the needles!
I have been spinning since 1979, so I love the spinning platters.

Congratulations,
If you have a good performance laptop, of course you will have a lot of fun, it performs very good.
Enjoy!
