Topic: Snap, Crackle & Pop!! Latency issue?

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

Hi

I have recently got a Hercules steel and VDJ and more often than not i get really stutery sound, which i would imagine is a latency problem.

I started off with a P2.8ghz, 2GB RAM, M-Audio sound card for Main output and using onboard for headphones. The glitching popping noise started almost straght away, played around with lots of settings within VDJ and could not fix it. It didn't always happen, just every now and again, if i changed a setting it would go away for a bit the come back.

....so, I bought a new PC, 2.2 dual core, 3gb RAM, same sound setup and i'm still having the same issue.

Have tried DPC latency checker which says everything is fine, disabled the onboard sound, removed my twin monitor graphics card, updated all the drivers and now sitting here wondering what the **** it could be.

Is my M-Audio card knackered?
Do i still not have the CPU power? (although it never uses more than 70% according to RM CPU clock utillity)
Am i the only one with this issue?

Any help would be grand.

The new boy.

I have been having the same problem but I know now that my system is lacking the power it needs to perform well. Sounds like you should have enough power maybe this can help... Good Luck.

There are tweeks available that will disable unnecessary windows features available providing the headroom to make things work properly. I would first ask that you optimize your computer with the guide below, it is in Adobe pdf format and you may have to download the Adobe reader to open. It's free on the net.Its well written and easy to follow.

The link below will help remove bloatware that runs unnecessarily on your computer.

Hi, I had a similar problem, especially when using jog wheel to navigate tracks, turned out it was the equalizer plugin causing it, both the 16 channel and the 32 channel, turned them of then everything is fine. note i use a utility called gamebooster to turn off unwanted services whilst using VDJ.

Good luck
