Topic: CPU usage maxed

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

I notice that when I run VDJ v6.0.5 the CPU usage bar is maxed and it causes video to run choppy. Does anyone know if there is anything I can do to get VDJ to run smoother?

My computer stats:
Windows XP SP3
Toshiba Satellite 1.60GHz Pentium Processor
2 GB RAM
Stock Video Card (Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 900, 10-128MB Internal
(UMA) shared video memory)

Thanks for your thoughts!

Have you resized or maximised the skin? This can lead to increased CPU usage on some systems depending on your graphic card's capabilities.

Rather than resizing, it's better to use another skin that matches your screen's native resolution. There are lots to choose from: http://www.virtualdj.com/addons/skins.html

Basically (I think?) your laptop is under spec for running videos.

The recommended configuration to mix video is:
Dual Core 2 GhZ CPU
ATI or nVidia video card w/256Mb of Dedicated DDR3 memory (dual output capable)
2048 MB RAM

Greg, you have about the same I do with my dell. Until my crash, I had no problems whatsoever. I just rebuilt and am ready to try again. I always have a backup though because I know I'm working the thing. I'm only running 1.5 ram. I had questions on another forum regarding tweaks for xp. Maybe check it out and see if it helps.

Have you downloaded the latest version of Direct x 9.0c?

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.aspx?url=/windows/directx/downloads/default.htm

Also, here is a link for a bunch of tweaks that you may never have thought of. Follow ALL of them.

In addition, the link below will help remove bloatware that runs unnecessarily on your computer. You will need to copy and paste into your browser...

Good luck!
