Hey guys, I noticed that when I have an M-Audio xponent connected to VDJ it crashes when I close VDJ, it does it every time but only upon closing. It does not affect me when I'm mixing but it does affect me when I'm setting up my music with cue point and stuff and I forget about the xponent being plugged in, it will crash VDJ and my cue points and stuff will not get saved.

This is a known issue with the Xponent. It has had this problem from Day 1 and it is in the drivers of the unit not properly releasing the software from device. There is nothing we can do to resolve it as it is in the M-Audio drivers. As suggestion - people have simply unplugged the unit before shutting down VirtualDJ. Sorry that is the only advice I have and not the best - but unfortunately it is something out of our control.

ok, cool.....it's really not a big deal, I just have to remember to unplug it when I set up my music. Thanks

Hi Guys,
I find this same problem when trying to close vDJ while it is connected to the new Vestax VCI-380.
If you click [X] to close vDJ everything vDJ freezes. As soon as you turn the controller OFF, the vDJ window then closes. It is not always the case, but seems to happen if you play a little before closing. If you get into vDJ and don't do much then try to close, it sometimes seems to close normally.
I am not sure if any vDJ data is lost, but it is an uneasy feeling to know that the program seems to have to forcefully end.
Does anybody know anything new about how to properly address the issue?

Additional Info:
This is happening on
Win XP SP2,
vDJ 7.0.5b
Vestax VCI-380 latest Windows Drivers
Windows did complain about the drivers not being certified when they were being installed and Windows also wanted to copy driver looking stuff from the XP install CD when the drivers were installing. So given these things, I suppose .......
But would be nice to get it completely sorted.

This is most likely a driver issue (VirtualDJ is waiting for driver to close.)
When this happens, try disconnecting the VCI-380 from your computer and you will probably find that VirtualDJ will then shutdown normally in most cases (The driver is unloaded altogether by Windows when you disconnect the VCI-380.)
The latest versions of VirtualDJ save the database automatically as you make changes, so under normal circumstances, you shouldn't loose anything if you forcefully close the software. However, doing this should be avoided if possible.
To find out whether it's the MIDI part of audio driver that is causing the problem, try using the sound card built into your computer instead of the VCI-380. If you get no problem at exit then it is the audio driver of the VCI-380 causing the problem. There may be a compatibility issue on WIndows XP or a conflict that is causing this problem.
Make sure that you have the latest VCI-380 drivers and firmware installed. You will need to download and install the latest version of Itch for VCI-380 to get these (They are built into the software.)
Also, check that there are no general performance or configuration issues with your computer itself: http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Common%20PC%20Performance%20Issues.html

Thanks for the reply. \
Will test out the recommendation to see if it is MIDI or Sound Driver related.
