I am running the latest version of VDJ and a hercules rmx mixer. I want to plug an external mini disc player into the mixer, but when I press the source button on the rmx I just get a loud buzzing sound, and not music.
I have tried chankging the settings in VDJ, but the only way I can get to hear the mini disc is if I change the input settings to Timecode, but then I can't use the hercules to control my hard drive.
Can someone tell me the correct way to set up VDJ and a hercules mixer so that I can use an external source.
VDJ now seems to have a lot more options in the sound setup section, and it just confuses me.

Panic over.
As a last resort I read the manual.
I just had to change some of the setting in the mappers.

I am having the same problem with the RMX and the MK4 on VDJ7. All my sources worked fine on VDJ6 and I cannot re-download 6
How did you fix your source problems through the mappers? Can you please explain it.
Thank you

Since I start using VDJ 7 I cannot use external sources anymore on the RMX. With the previous versions it was working very good. Now I need to use external sources again and would like to know how to configure this in 7.03 Pro.
I checked all settings but I only get a loud humming or buzzing sound when I select source 1 or source 2.
So my question is, what is the correct configuration to have the RMX and VDJ 7.03 use the sources.
Hercules info:
Package: 2. HDJS.2011
Firmware: 1.0.6.31
Driver: 5.2.3.0
Midi Map: Default
DJ API: 2.0.22.16
CPL: 2.0.9.1

Hi DJ Phatso,
I had tried all that already but still it was not working.
It is now working correctly again, I needed to change some settings which VDJ 7 had changed.
I first deinstalled it completely from the machine, cleaned up the registry, removing everything from VDJ, reinstalled it but still it was humming when clicking on Source.
Then I checked the Mappers and noticed that it was on timecode_bypass. I changed that to linein and also in Sound Setup, I changed None to Line-Ins and finally music when hitting the Source button.
It looks like that version 7 expects this for the RMX, see screenshots:
