I have bee using Virtual for over a year with no glitches. Last night, every time I pressed the right play button, my pitch range would change? It would go from 6% to 8% to 10%, etc. and the song wouldn't play. Left side was fine. I would go into config and reset pitch back to my favorite setting 10% to 10% and then push play and it would jump to 12%, 25%, all the way through the cycle. Please tell me that I have accidentally hit something on the controller. Never had any problems and use it at least twice a weekend. I have the latest firmware on the Denon controller. Any ideas?

BTW, I did shut down the laptop and restart. I, also, did press the power button to reset on the Denon (I even unplugged it). Still no change.

Check you don't have "smart play" enabled on that deck. Load the standard skin and look for an orange padlock and click it.

Are you using a usb hub for the denon? if you are, a guy had a problem with a mixtrack I think, it was causing mixed midi messages to be sent with some buttons

Check the mapping for the PLAY button in CONFIG -> Mappers -> HC4500. What is it mapped to? It should be mapped to play_pause
Please also ensure that no automatic pitch matching/sync functions are enabled. VirtualDJ will change the pitch range in the latest version if this is required to be able to match the two songs together.
Beatlock might be turned on (SYNC button on the default skins is lit permanently.) In earlier versions of the software, this was mapped to 'B' by default and was easy to trigger by accident. It is now mapped to SHIFT+B by default. If it's on, turn it off by pressing its shortcut. If it's mapped to B then you should change its key via CONFIG -> Mappers -> Keyboard to SHIFT+B to avoid accidental triggering.
When loading a song, by default the BPM will be matched with the other deck. If you are using an external MIDI controller, this will mean that the pitch slider will no-longer respond until you move it to the correct position as indicated on the on-screen skin. If you prefer to manually beat match, disable the following in CONFIG -> Options: Auto Pitch Matching and Pitch Reset on Load
You can turn off smart play, smart cue and beatlock by mapping a key to the follows:
smart_play off & smart_cue off & beatlock off
This will turn off the auto beat matching features for the current selected deck (Press TAB to choose) when you press it.

Swapped it with another hc4500 and it works fine. It must be a problem with the controller. The mapping would be the same for either machine, correct? Would these other features also be the same using different controllers? (ie. The smart play and smart cue). I am assuming the mapping and program aren't causing a conflict because the program runs fine with my other 4500. I updated the firmware again and hopefully it will help.

The same mapping will be used for both HC4500's, so if you had accidentally changed it, the problem would affect both.
The same applies to beat lock, etc. However, beat lock will reset when restarting the software. The others such as smart play, auto pitch matching, etc. are permanent settings.
It may be a fault with the HC4500.
