Topic: Mixtrack and existing sound card or Mixtrack Pro

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

I am considering purchasing a Mixtrack or a Mixtrack Pro to replace my TotalControl, and was hoping to get some advice on which to get. I have a Tapco Link Firewire audio interface which I got originally to record, with but have also used it with Virtual DJ and my TotalControl. I was wondering if using that along with a Mixtrack would produce better latency and audio quality than a Mixtrack Pro would be able to. It seems like having two dedicated devices on separate ports on the laptop would be able to be quicker than a single item doing both, but I do not know enough about it to tell for sure.

I have been searching online and on these forums for this, but have yet to find an answer so thank you for responding.

Firewire communicates with your computer much faster than usb, so you should get better sound quality and latency with the firewire card, you also need to consider the mixtrack would have been produced with budget conscious consumers in mind, so it probably doesn't have the best soundcard built in to it anyway.

The sound card in the MixTrack Pro is not ASIO capable, so if you already have an ASIO capable card, then the normal MixTrack may be a better choice.

ASIO gives low latency audio for better scratch response.

Alright thanks for the responses. It seems like the Mixtrack is the better way to go, especially at almost half the price.
