Topic: High CPU Usage with 4 Deck Skin

Ever since starting to use the NS6 and the 4 Deck skin (3-1-2-4) I am getting very high CPU usage. Usually floats around 40-45% but when loading a song I'm going around 95%.

Before using this setup I was only getting around 10-15% of CPU usage and approx 75-80% when loading songs with my RMX and two deck skin.

This is the MAC setup, any ideas? Is this normal to run that high with a 4 deck skin?

make sure the skin is in the same resolution s your screen or you haven't maximized it

SKin is same resolution as screen but I do run it in maximized mode. Will give that a shot.
 
Have you scanned your database prior to loading said track? This can be a characteristic of a maximized skin (not recommended) and/or an unscanned track prior to loading.
 
I'm going to go back and rescan it just to make sure. I thought all was scanned but may have added a bunch of new stuff and forgot to. Will check and report back. Thanks
 
No Dice! I rescanned last night but did not help. I have shut down all unnecessary background processes with only VDJ running. No other applications running. SItting idle i'm running at about 30% cpu usage not even doing anything. moving the mouse cpu usage goes up another 10%.

I'm not sure what happened as this only used to read about 10% cpu usage but now seems to be eating resources.
 
probably a silly question but have you tried any other skins in the same resolution? did you still get high cpu usage?
 
The Numark drivers are notorious for running heavy on processing. If you are below 50% then that is good. Having a spike above 75% on loading a track is also not uncommon - specially if you have 2 decks already playing and loading a third deck.
 
Merry Christmas to all, hey i know this is a old posting, but I'm having the same issue with high cpu usage mine is at 80-100% before i plug in my RMX, in your answer you said to rescan? what is that? hope i don't sound too simple. i have my laptop wiped and reloaded, to open more memory, if i CTRL+SHIFT ESC my cpu says 14% but vd cpu says 80%. im only using 2 deck skin
 
Yes... What does rescan mean? Is that when you run a BPM scan on your tracks?
