Can someone explain to me in simple layman's terms how to properly configure timecodes. I don't seem to get a consistent strong signal for more than an hour. Sometimes in my sets the tracking of the vinly gets off and drags and seems off track/calibrated. I have tuned up my TT 1200's by replacing my old RCA cables and buying new matching stylus. Therefore I've tried to eliminate it being a source problem. I trie to allow ample amount of time to set up prior to any gigs just to ensure my timecodes are working. But it never fails that i have to adjust or workaround these issues.
What are the key checkpoints and settings/defaults for time coded vinyl? How big should the green circle be? What should latency be set at? Most of my gigs are hip hop and R&B so I scratch alot and really depend on my timecodes to work properly. What do I need to do to be confident that I can focus on my mix and not technical issues.
I use a MBP 13"with a 1.66 processor and 8gigs of ram. Any leadership you can provide will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Que Yi
