I have a registered copy of vdj 5.2.1 pro and i am not using any controller at this time. I am using a logitech headphones with a microphone and call me a noob but i dont see anything on my screen that lets me click mic on or off or volume etc etc. I have been thru the options and dont find any keybidings for microphone? Can anybody help me out?

VirtualDJ v5.2.1 is a very old version and does not have this capability. It has very limited microphone support.
If you upgrade to the latest v7.0.5 Pro (This is free for you because you have purchased the software), you will have more mic control, including the ability to map keyboard shortcuts to turn it on/off, e.g:
mic on
mic off
mic volume 50%
...etc.
