Hi,
Well firstly to find out how to record took me some time, putting in the advanced audio Recording Loopback to input 1&2.
Now after recording a set, when i listen to the file there are parts that have this crackling distorting sound for quite a few seconds then goes out, but this happens in diferent areas in the recording, ive gone through and researched everything i cant understand whats happening please help

I've also had that problem when recording also when playing live on VDJ Radio what fixed the problem was to use a cable from booth out on VMS4 into line in on my macbook and set the build in input for recording. No more distortion or clipping

I got the same problem but I have the 2012 macbook pro where the option to use the jack as an input has dissapeared, for some stupid reason apple took that option away in an update.
Any clue to how I can get around this dam crackling noise???

It is not suggested to record internally with the VMS4 (using the input 1,2 of the VMS4). The safe way to record with the VMS4 is to route the Booth output to an input of a DIFFERENT sound card. http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Recording%20your%20set%20or%20broadcasting%20when%20using%20an%20external%20DJ%20mixer.html
An aggregate device might be needed to be made, to combine those 2 sound cards
