Topic: How do i get custom mappers to show up?

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

I just bought what they said was their last chip from Gizmo labs and upgraded my Numark DMC. i went to Mappers and got a cool mapper from Pern , and it says to go and just add it to documents\virtualdj\plugins\controlldevices and I added the DLL. i also addd it to \virtualdj\plugins as there was no controlldevices folder in there, so I put it there and i added the controlldevices folder. I also added it to virtualdj\devices hoping that would help. when I go to Mappers, it finds it as the PCDJ DAC2 and some functions work, but even when I uncheck show only attached devices, I cant find it in the list. this is VDJ 7.05b on my new Mac Book Pro 13 2.3 Gig Dual core Dou, Bootcamped to Win 7 Home Premium 32 bit, 4GB ram, 5.5 on Win Experience Index (BTW Video playback sucks), and I cant get the mapper to show?

Also, is there a way to set Win 7 to run fast for VDJ? win 7 runs so sluggish! I remember the Win XP settings, but never saw any for Win 7

thanx 2 all-

The OLDER DLL mappers do not always work with the latest version of VirtualDJ. This is because the method the older mappers were created are using an older development method. Specially the DMC-1 and DAC-2 controllers.

Those controllers are using the OLD RS-232 'serial' communications even if there is a USB connection involved. I would suspect that even if you found an OLD version of the original PCDJ Red or Blue the unit will not work on Windows 7. As the drivers for those units don't always play well in the Win7 environment.

But to answer your question - try the 'Other' folder that is under the Plugins folder.

Good luck ...

Try enabling the use of serial devices in CONFIG -> Mappers

Click on the button to the right of the drop-down list and tick this option (It's off by default because legacy serial devices are obsolete.)

See http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/DMC1-DAC2.html

NOTE: This will enable the native VDJscript support in VirtualDJ. Old DLL mappers are obsolete and are no-longer supported in VirtualDJ v6 and v7.
