hey guys, ive been playing round with the freestyler plugin today and i cant seem to figure ou whats wrong, when im using it, my lights seem to not work in sync also, if i say for example blast my fogger, freestyler keeps putting blue triangle warning signs next to my geatures in theprofile and stops me controlling them

What do you mean by it crashing VDJ?
Inviato Fri 18 May 12 @ 7:48 am
let me explain,
when i have only vdj running and i boot up freestyler, then freestyler stops working, when i have freestyler only is booted up and i load vdj its ok, but, when i start passing beats from vdj to freestyler, for some reason vdj is freezin up of crashin and stopping work. its not happening all the time, it seems to be temprimental.

Its actually crashing? VDJ throws up an error then closes?
How are you passing the beats?
How are you passing the beats?

yes it does scott, it throws up an error and says "vdj has stopped working" then something about a solution. im passing the beats... and correct me if im wrong as may well be due to the fact this is all new to me, by going to effects > other > freestyler sl2 > then pressing pass beats and moving the first slider untill the lights start dancing.
please be aware that i am new to DMX and your plugin and am still pretty clueless atm. although im geting there.
thanks, john.

The fogger issue is probably due to mains interference being created by the fogger.
As a minimum, plug the fogger into a different socket to your sound and/or lights.
Ideally you should be using filtered (spike protection) extension leads to feed the important kit.

I'm slightly confused.
Are you using network mode or local mode - is "Use Network" enabled or not?
Those sliders are labelled "IP Address Octet x" - they configure the IP address for network mode. You do not need to touch them if you are not using network mode. If you are using network mode then you need to use them to set the IP address you want to talk to over the network.
They have nothing to do with beat detection which is tied to the VDJ CBG grid.
