Hi:)

I have a feature suggestion that would surely be helpful (in my opinion;) )

When using the loop function, it would be nice to rightclick or press a button and " send loop to sampler "
Alternatively, a button in the sampler section to " sample from loop "

What would then happen would be that the loop would be sent to the selected sampler slot . The loop would be sent "as is" meaning post-eq/fx. It would mirror the channels output 1:1. when i then press play on the sampler, it should play the sample identical to the loop timing wise. (Timing and mirroring so tight that if i were to invert the phase of loop or sample looping, they would cancel out)

That would be super helpful...

You can do that already with the exception of it having effects applied to it. I'd post it in the wishes forum.
 

you can already send a loop to the sampler that is selected. just map 'sampler rec' to something. you could even change the mapping of the loop button on the skin with adding the right click of 'loop & sampler rec' eg

Yup heres a few ways I use,

I take a lot of samples from tracks and it sucks to have to go through and test out what a 2,4,6,8 or 16 bar loop is gonna sound like one at a time so I use this to catch 4 samples, all at different loop lengths,

deck 2 select & deck 2 loop 1 & sampler 5 rec & sampler 5 play & sampler 5 beatlock & deck 2 loop_out & deck 2 select & deck 2 loop 2 & sampler 6 rec & sampler 6 play & sampler 6 beatlock & deck 2 loop_out & deck 2 select & deck 2 loop 4 & sampler 7 rec & sampler 7 play & sampler 7 beatlock & deck 2 loop_out & deck 2 select & deck 2 loop 8 & sampler 8 rec & sampler 8 play & sampler 8 beatlock & deck 2 loop_out

or, (this can only be used when your NOT looping)

var '$shift' ? deck 2 select & deck 2 loop & sampler 6 rec & sampler 6 play & sampler 6 beatlock & deck 2 loop_out : holding 300ms ? deck default sampler 6 stop & deck default sampler 6 select : deck default sampler 6 play_stutter

Seems i cant use the sampler... Timing is always off and no option to nudge...

It would be so much easier to simply "mirror loop" .. Tight timing and sample start position is key...

Its one feature that would be sooo helpful if if would function the way i need it to... The way it is now, it scares me and i cant use it.

One button = mirror loop with post eq/fx. When i play the sample, timing should match the loop without me worrying about milliseconds as there isnt a nudge function... Also, the sampler could simply duplicate the looped section without me worrying about pressing the sampleREC button on the first beat and again right at the end of the loop ( which is often a lucky coincidence if it works the way it is in my head and looping )


P.s. Oh, never noticed a wishes section:) maybe a mod can move this thread there ?;)

If you have "beatlock" enabled on your sampler you shouldn't have a problem, for the most part it works pretty well. On the other hand "practice makes perfect". You should get your timing down and not always depend on the program, no disrespect intended.

My timing is pretty tight... It has to be...
Beatlock is enabled... The programs timing still sux... No disrespect, but you may want to check your timing if it sounds right for you... ;)
That is why it should mirror the loop.. Or at least have a nudge function... I dont know how i can time the sampling any better than the program allows... ;)
 

Me personally I don't use the beatlock because I use timecodes and it does weird things, lol! I use the pitch match and things seem to be fine but yeah hopefully when 8 comes out they'll have added some more features to the sampler section.

the reason the loops don't line up is because for some reason the loops don't quantize to the beat grid. you need to map an encoder with 'loop_move' or map a button with something like 'wheel_mode "loop_move" while_pressed' to control it with the jogwheel.
