But I wondered if anybody could point me in the right direction please?
I have a Hercules Air Console with VDJ Free installed on my machine. The software that I got with the console is horrific and I much prefer the VDJ version. Now, from what I can gather, I can only use this console with the Pro version. So, before I go and purchase one of the 2 versions, Is Pro Basic going to give me the capability to use this console or would I need to purchase the full version?
Any help would be gratefully received.

Other than LE versions that ship with some products, the only VDJ version that supports controllers is full Pro.

Hercules DJConsole Air has never included VirtualDJ LE, so if you wish to use it with VirtualDJ, you will need to purchase the full VirtualDJ Professional: http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html
VirtualDJ Basic, Broadcaster and Home FREE do not support using MIDI controllers (Except for 10 minutes at a time as a trial of the full VirtualDJ Professional.)
