I don't use itunes so cant arrange them on there and import. i want to create a playlist on vdj 8 as accurately as possible harmonically, to do this i need to manually raise or lower them in the list (ideally drag and drop) is there a way to do this?

OK i just read, they have taken out the drag and drop feature, how do i make a set then? by writing it down on a pad an paper, and typing the name of the song in the search bar? that to me seems idiotic.

Load your songs up in automix in the order you want. You can move them around using drag & drop.
Then click on the "sun" symbol on the top rhs of the automix window hence opening a new menu.
At the bottom of the menu is save.
You should be ok from there.

Bottom rhs window with 5 symbols in a line. sidelist, sampler, automix, karaoke, best.
You need to have a look here..

I'm still busy learning this manual.

The more third party software you introduce into a computer the greater the danger of problems.
I find VDJ playlist management perfectly acceptable.
Keep your computers as clean and lean as possible.
That's hard given everybody and their dog wants to add bloatware to your system.
That includes the manufacturer of your computer, Windows, and even Atomix.
Do you really want to invite others to join the bloatware party ?

I see your point, but i really need the tagging features and music organization features of MB.
You see, i always add a handful of songs into my DB daily, like many DJ's do (i think).
And since i don't use iTunes, i organize their tags and their location how i need it to be.
VirtualDJ can't auto-rename files in a pattern and move them to a specific relative location, but why should it?
It's DJ software and by that more of a 'music browser' than a 'music organizer'.
I know many only need what VDJ can offer, and thats how it's supposed to be.
MB is just my recommendation, and when you have brain.exe you would download it from the
original website and don't have any bloatware.
I really pick my software carefully as i'm aware of resources and bloatware,
but MB is a must have for me =)

Daniel

Not all the software that runs on your laptop has to be installed in the traditional manner.
I have a flash drive which I use for adding songs.
On this drive I have Kid3 which is a robust open source tag editor.
It works ok.
Just a thought.
We all have different ways of doing things.

All on my external DJ HDD, i rarely DJ on my own Laptop so it's all there and all portable.
I like portable apps and i only have those programs solid installed that don't work portable (like Adobe After Effects, Chrome and such).

If you use itunes for your playlists, you'll be sure that almost every DJ-soft can read your playlists. Even after messing by Apple with itunes, every soft will adapt and try to read the Itunes playlists. So you never lose your work, whatever the future will bring.
