I usually record my sets audio-wise within the software, and also use this feature to record my podcasts. It'd be neat if we could record controller input so if we make a mistake, we can tweak our mistake afterward and be able to post a perfect podcast. Catch my drift?

IIRC, that is how MixEmergency works.
It's a nice idea and, I believe, not that CPU intensive.

Hmm. Although I'm glad you mentioned that neat product, it's not really what I'm looking for. To clarify, i'm thinking a digital recording of control inputs so we can display them on a timeline afterward and tweak a recorded mix.
For example, if I record a mix and realize I cut the bass 4 beats earlier than I would have liked, I would be able to go in, see when I turned the knob down, and adjust the timing of my action to 4 beats later. Sort of like mix automation in ProTools.

Yes yes, I'm with you.
MixEmergency stores all controller actions in a file (or whatever) while you are recording.
If you later decide to export your mix - physically generating a video or audio file of your mix - it uses these stored data informations to "recreate" your mix.
So it is basically the thing you are requesting. Just without the possibility to acutally see and modify these data.
But if you already have them, it should be possible to show and manipulate them afterwards.
As I said, it is a nice idea and definately usefull.
On the other side: Aren't those little mistakes that thing what makes a mix individual, personal, likeable and not so sterile?
If you want to create a 100% perfect mix there are other tools to achive that.

You wouldn't be recording audio, you'd be recording actions which seems fine until you consider- scratching, recording that as an action would eat processing power. - also timecode how would that figure?

See the Bridge project by Ableton/Serato. There was a "mixtape mode" which recorded the actions of (a very small number of) supported controllers, and allowed you to tweak to your heart's content afterwards.
Actually there's no reason why you couldn't do that in Ableton Live right now. No need for Serato.
A DJ controller would have to be mapped though, as Live doesn't natively support them.
I've put a mix together in Live manually before, without a controller, and it's pretty tedious.
